His & Hers by Alice Feeney Is Coming to Netflix

If you loved Alice Feeney’s His & Hers on the page, get ready, this twisty psychological thriller is coming to Netflix as a limited series on January 8, 2026!

Based on Feeney’s bestselling 2020 novel of the same name, His & Hers is being adapted into a six-episode Netflix Original that promises all of the unsettling suspense, unreliable narration, and shocking revelations that made the book impossible to put down.

🎬 What the Netflix Series Is About

According to the official synopsis, the limited series follows Anna, a former Atlanta news anchor living in near-isolation who is drawn back into life when she overhears news of a murder in her hometown of Dahlonega. Unable to resist crackling curiosity, she throws herself into the investigation. But when Detective Jack Harper begins to suspect her motives, Anna’s search for answers becomes dangerously personal.

With two perspectives, competing truths, and a maze of secrets, His & Hers explores how very different “truths” can feel when someone desperately wants you to believe them.

⭐ The Cast & Creative Team

The adaptation brings big talent both in front of and behind the camera:

  • Tessa Thompson stars as Anna and also serves as an executive producer.
  • Jon Bernthal plays Detective Jack Harper.
  • The series is developed by William Oldroyd, with Dee Johnson as showrunner and Bill Dubuque contributing to the writing team.

Filmed in Georgia, the series is set against the sweltering heat of Atlanta and the quiet, eerie backdrops of Dahlonega, perfect terrain for suspense and mystery.

My Review: His & Hers by Alice Feeney

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Rating: 5 out of 5 — from my original review on Romina’s Life.

Alice Feeney’s His & Hers is one of those psychological thrillers that keeps you guessing until the very last page. Told from three gripping perspectives: Anna Andrews, Detective Jack Harper, and the killer itself, the narrative constantly shifts your suspicions and expectations.

Anna starts the story having just lost her job as a news anchor. When she’s sent to cover a murder back in her hometown, where one of her childhood friends is found dead, things quickly spiral. Another friend dies, and Anna finds herself confronting old memories, buried secrets, and her own role in what might be a series of revenge-fueled murders

Jack, Anna’s ex-husband and a detective, finds himself under suspicion when incriminating items show up in his personal effects. Is he being framed? Or does he have more to hide than he admits?

The brilliance of the book lies in Feeney’s ability to expand the suspect list over and over again. You think you know who did it, and then everything changes. That feeling of “wait – what just happened?” throughout the ending is exactly why this story translates so well to the screen.

His & Hers Book Quotes

I think when we finally get what we think we want, it loses its value. It’s the secret nobody ever shares, because if they did, we would all stop trying.

― Alice Feeney, His & Hers

Youth fools us into thinking there are infinite paths to choose from in life; maturity tricks us into thinking there is only one.

― Alice Feeney, His & Hers

Sometimes I get lost in my own thoughts and fears. Trapped within a world of worry which, deep down, I know only exists inside my head. Anxiety often screams louder than logic, and when you spend too long imagining the worst you can make it come true.
